Skipton

Skipton is a sans serif font family. This typeface has twelve styles and was published by Fettle Foundry.

Skipton is a new typeface from Fettle Foundry that draws obvious inspiration from familiar European modernist classics while introducing subtle, softening flourishes of its own.
With a smaller X-height, greater contrast, wider glyphs, flatter bowls, more open counters and subtle flares, Skipton stands apart from its contemporaries.
Designed to be flexible and highly legible, Skipton is a brilliant choice for designers and organisations producing branding, posters, websites and other design applications.
Featuring an impressive 685 glyphs, including tabular figures, localised alternates, ligatures, mathematical symbols, fractions, superiors and inferiors, punctuation, extended currency symbols, arrows, shapes, and an array of additional elements, Skipton is a comprehensive typographic solution for designers seeking both aesthetic diversity and functional depth.
Available in ten weights (five roman and five italic) it is intended to offer the flexibility of a true workhorse, without the inclusion of redundant or superfluous weights.
The italics adapt the oblique versions of the uprights – a common practice in type of this style – however, curve compensation and optical corrections have been applied to lessen the effects of sloping and create a hybrid between obliques and true italics.
Thorough kerning has been undertaken across the whole glyph set, particularly between Latin-based, non-Anglophone character combinations, with special ligatures also present to support over 380 Latin-based languages.
