Libreto

Libreto is a mecano – humanist style typeface family, optimized for professional print publications using homemade reproduction methods such as inkjet, photocopier, laser printing, and risography.

It was created as an alternative for the composition of theatrical scripts. It includes ink traps in key parts of most characters and a low contrast after identifying the issues of color loss and ink spread when printing classic-style typefaces through self-publishing methods.

It is suitable for immersive reading, thanks to a wide x-height and generous counters, allowing each line of text to be clearly marked. It features common traits found in fonts used by playwrights, such as lapidary finishes with rounded vertices and tear-shaped terminations.
