Arrieta is a versatile typeface family designed to serve various design purposes. It combines the traditional mechanical typography process of punch cutting with the expressive strokes of a nib pen, resulting in a reliable, angled typeface.

According to the myth, Arrieta was created by a punchcutter who was known for his aversion to cutting curves due to his laziness. As a result, his primary objective was to preserve the texture of the Old Styles series, originally crafted by Alexander Phemister, by incorporating fewer curves into the design.
