NCT Torin 2

NCT Torin 2 is a complete redraw of the original NCT Torin from 2018. The weights are rebalanced to contains 9 weights with matching obliques, for 18 styles total. All characters were redrawn, re-spaced, and re-kerned, and hinting was updated. This new version is better suited towards both long text and display than the old version.

The defining characteristics of NCT Torin are its friendly and knowledgable feel. This comes from soft geometric forms, and influences from classical book typography. Descending J and Q, and curved quotation marks follow the style of Caslons or Garamonds more than pure geometric sans, and the ascender height is taller than the cap height, which is traditional for serifed book fonts. Still, the tall x height and round forms make it just as good for grotesk font use.

Version 2 has a more compact character set, but still supports the most commonly spoken languages using the Latin script. It also adds more useful OpenType features for improved legibility. Because of this, the price was reduced.
