Alasassy

Alasassy is an informal typeface that is designed to liven up logos, headlines, informal signs, advertising, book or report covers, or packaging.  It’s condensed and looks hand-written, as though it had been drawn with a felt-tip pen that left little ink balls on the ends of letters. The lowercase mixes capital and lowercase letter shapes that share the same height, and there are alternate characters with a mix of high and low crossbars that give the design versatility and a whimsical feeling.

Type designer Andrea Leksen wrote out pages of Sharpie pen drawings to get the look she wanted for Alasassy. She describes it as “a great combination of an organic, hand drawn feel but still clean and crisp enough to look professional.” Alasassy offers two weights of Alasassy, Regular and Bold, with italic complements for each.
