While most contemporary typefaces assimilate uppercase and lowercase, Grotext emphasizes the difference between them. Its uppercase are wide and of classical proportions. Its lowercase are narrow and make it a space-saver.

This is reminiscent of blackletter lowercase combined with uncial uppercase forms.
