DECO PEN LINES JNL

Designed by Jeff Levine, Deco Pen Lines JNL is an art deco font family. This typeface has two styles and was published by Jeff Levine Fonts.

The September 4, 1935 issue of Motion Picture Daily carried an ad for “The Dark Angel” - the story of three friends who come of age during World War I in England.

Instead of typography that represented those early war years, the title of the film was hand drawn in a tall, condensed Art Deco style comprised of three parallel lines. In most of the characters these parallel lines intersect and cross, for a unique take on multi-line lettering.

This has been recreated digitally as Deco Pen Lines JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.
