1885 Germinal

1885 Germinal is a font family published by GLC Foundry.

This script font was inspired by a lot of manuscripts, notes and drafts, written by the famous french novelist Émile Zola (1840-1902). Specially, letters and notes from the period he was writing “Germinal” one of his very famous novel (published in 1884-1885) depicting the french minor’s life in the past middle of eighteens. It is an elegant pen written type, sometimes connected, sometimes disrupted, but always regular and legible, with many variants, ligatures and numerous contextual or alternate glyphs in the OTF version.
